When a federal panel found last year that pediatricians were more influential than other doctors in promoting the use of sunscreen, CBS news came to our office to discuss new guidelines. This report aired on local stations around the U.S.

 Physicians are required to report cases of contagious and unusual diseases to the County Health Department, and a group of mumps cases I came across in 2010 turned out to be the first local instances of a national outbreak.  The Los Angeles Times was among many news outlets to cover this story.

As measles began to spread in Southern California last year, the Jewish Journal asked Dr. Keene to share a pediatrician's perspective about patients who decline to be immunized.  He responded with a primer on how vaccines work for individuals and in a community population.
